Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Delayed Three-Month Limit


Marvel has postponed its planned limited comic series Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit, which was scheduled to be thematically linked to the upcoming Disney Plus Ms. Marvel streaming show that Marvel Studios has announced will debut by the end of 2021.

Samira Ahmed and Andrés Genolet’s five-issue series was announced in June for a September 15 start, but the publisher has informed retailers that the series’ launch has been delayed for three months for a new start on December 1. .

Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit is prose writer Samira Ahmed’s comic book debut after a string of bestselling young adult novels including Love, Hate, & Other Filters; Internment; and Crazy, bad and dangerous to know. This new Ms. Marvel series will follow Kamala Khan to Bollywood as she deals with her superpower dysfunction AND a surprise doppelganger.

“Fans who have been here from day one will love to see how we play with his powers, explore them and maybe push them,” Ahmed said during the book’s initial announcement. “I don’t want to spoil it, but there will be questions that will arise as to the source of his powers and what that means.”

Ahmed, who says she’s been a fan of Ms. Marvel since the character was first announced in 2013, says Beyond the Limit will dive headlong into South Asian culture.

“We’re definitely going to have some food in there, we’re definitely going to have some pretty striking South Asian cultural elements that people are going to see right off the bat on the show,” Ahmed continued. “There will be familiar faces and fan favorites, but also new faces … [G. Willow Wilson] then [Saladin Ahmed] have created such an amazing world. I’m just excited to explore it and even push it a little further. “

Andrés Genolet comes to Ms. Marvel: Beyond The Limit after a stint on the Runaways, which Newsarama has just confirmed was canceled with Runaways # 38 of August 11.

Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit # 1 (of 5) will now go on sale December 1, with a collected edition of Ms. Marvel: Beyond the Limit scheduled for March 15.
